Cosy up for a fireside drink or hold your private function in our own characterful pub.
In the 1800s, when everything from tea to brandy could not be imported without paying tax to the government, smuggling became a way of life in this wild and remote part of Scotland. Fortunately, it’s somewhat easier to enjoy a drink at The Smuggler’s – our very own characterful pub and function room. It’s a unique spot for receptions, informal meetings, and with its own stage, it’s the perfect room for live bands and entertainment. Or to just soak up the atmosphere over a drink in front of a roaring of fire.
“One of my best hotel nights ever! Arrived to this fantastic Tower a dark, windy and rainy evening in November. What an amazing building!! The staff at this place are outstanding the best I’ve ever met during all my stays at different hotels.”
Many of our rooms have sea views and all offer you the most peaceful night’s sleep but don’t worry about packing an alarm clock – we’ll wake you gently each morning, ready for breakfast, with the distant, romantic sound of bagpipes drifting on the air.
